A beer could not have been named better! A super tasty IPA with tons of floral hop goodness in every sip….this is the kind of beer you should think twice when ordering, because they are not calling it HERCULES for nothing! A serious “meaty” IPA for IPA fans everywhere…very well made.

I do not know how great a review of a beer would be if it were described as “inoffensive” or “a bottle of easy drinking fizz,” but regardless of my English professor’s criticisms, Kirin Ichiban is a good ol’ fashion pale beer somebody in Middle America (no offense) would be proud of. It has much more flavor than traditional American macros; take that for what it is worth. It has classic macro-style un-bitterness and an outer worldly smoothness….good for not thinking about what you are drinking.

The Bartons, formerly of Yards, formed their new brewery just recently in the same location as the “old” Yards brewery in the Kensington section of Philly. Boy have they done their homework. Easy drinking, quality beers are being produced in the city.
Try the Kenzinger, a mildly hopped ale that tastes like a light Vienna style lager (think of Brooklyn Lager light). The Walt Wit fulfills all the requirements of a Belgian style white and will go perfect with the days getting longer and temperatures REMAINING warm.
Yards should be looking out and taking notes, but somehow we think Mr. Kehoe will be up for the challenge!

Iron Hill brought out their Guiness/Irish dry stout clone last week, much to the liking of our little gang. It was tasty and we found it a bit more roasted than the “original” stuff. Not bad at all.
